BIRD PPE EXPECT Conference – 6th July 2016

cakeThe ‘EXPECT’ event on 6th July was much anticipated and enjoyed. One of our key objectives was wanting people to feel comfortable so we encouraged everyone to move about as needed, when needed rather than stiffen up waiting for the next break and our thanks has to go out to the cheerful & helpful RNHRD porters who brought in different chairs for those who needed them!

The presentations were organised to run across a range of common issues and problems that people with A&CP face, rather than focussed on one specific disease and the feedback we got from the day suggests we got the balance right! In addition, people told us how much they particularly enjoyed meeting others and the EXPECT (open conversation) sessions so this is definitely something we will add in to future meetings.

Special thanks goes out to Sarah-Jane at Minky Kitten Cakes for the amazing (and yummy!) ’PPE’ themed celebration cake and, of course, all our wonderful new PPE volunteers who helped out on both days!

It is important that public and patients have the opportunity to be involved with the development of the plans'‘.
