In this third episode of our podcast series about Vasculitis, Mel Brooke, Patient and Public Engagement Programme Director (BIRD) talks with Clinical Nurse Specialist, Sarah Smith from the RNHRD (Bath) who talks about the new Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) clinic at the hospital, how she interacts and councils patients with their medications, symptom management and helps to support them with this particular variant of Vasculitis. GCA causes inflammation of those blood vessels which largely reside in the head and neck although other parts of the body can also be affected.
